How did i Test...

Software Testing - was just a term that I first studied in my Bachelors for passing. It was really a very easy topic and easy to understand. I never knew that I would take up software testing as my career. It was just a topic for me that would fetch me 40 marks for me in software engineering.
After my Graduation like every one else I started my job hunt, a massive and aggressive job hunt. Because, with grades like mine it was not easy to get a job. But I tried my best. In the process I joined Software testing course in Mumbai, a 20 day course in testing was not much of time waste. It help me understand different types of testing methods(there are lot many types of testing methods), Testing tools, why we use testing tools, Test reports and etc etc….and finally got a job. My first job I was very happy and very enthusiastic. I was earning and that was the Best part. Well I learn up things very quickly and within a month I was given a small module to test….only me. That was my first project in which I would be handling thing alone, testing all the functionalities, reporting bugs, assign bugs to programmers, explaining those bugs to programmers, creating test cases….and all those stuff…I was really tense. I use to go early and leave office late….so tat I would carry my task successfully and things went well….my seniors helped me.
Then I was assign to another project with my colleague to help me. We were really good on the project and at the ending of the project…some thing went wrong. The test report he created was not in the proper format. I was called in by my Big Boss and asked for explanation. I was really confused as for y I was called in; tat mistake was made by my colleague who was more senior than I was…but boss is always the boss and always right. Well one thing I learn, is never to trust any one when you are responsible for any project.
After two months I got a better opportunity and I took It up. Salary wise it was just a thousand rise, but job profile was it was really good, I knew I was going to learn a lot of thing and I took up the offer.
New company…new colleagues….new work environment. This company was much bigger than what I was worked for before. It took time for me to adjust. But then again new company…Big Company… I was very very happy and very enthusiastic. This was product base and they were into website’s, complete different work environment. It had many process, many reports to be generated and many hierarchy. I remember my first team meeting…(never participated in professional…formal….team meeting). I was well dressed, shoes neatly polished…and meeting started…it was all new to me and I was very exited. I was introduced to all other members and the meeting started, well I was very nervous…..if somebody asks me anything I should be able to answer it properly.
The meeting went on and nobody bothered to ask me anything…I was really getting bore. Now I know y meeting were held…J complete time pass....
Well I started catching up with things well, learn many new testing techniques, many other types of reports, attending trainings, meeting ;-) , conducting meeting…audits and all stuff.
I was awarded two certificates from the company and things were pretty good for me the company. But things have to come to an end.
And like everyone else I started my job hunt for better job after 10 Months and to my luck, my TL called me for interview in his new company where I was selected. This was a much bigger than the earlier one. Here we were (me and my TL) suppose to build a Testing Team (with all QA and QC Process). People here were from all big brand and big name. To be very frank I was really feeling very nervous here at start…like how will I be co-coordinating with people, setting and implementing process. But my TL helped me a lot. Me and My TL were strong team. We worked doing both testing and implementing a basic process. And I am working hard to be the best in my field… :-)
